Correct Use of carbide twist drill

1. Choosing the right machine tool,carbide twist drill can be used in CNC machine tools, machine tools with high power and good steeliness, and TIR < 0.02 should be guaranteed. The rocker drill, universal milling and other machine tools are easy to cause the early collapse of cemented carbide bits due to their low power and poor spindle accuracy, which should be avoided as far as possible.

2. Choose the right tool holder spring chuck, side pressure tool holder, hydraulic tool holder, thermal expansion tool holder and so on. But because the clamping force of quick change drill holder is not easy to cause the bit to slip and fail, it should be eliminated.


3. Correct cooling

(1) External cooling should pay attention to the direction combination of cooling, form up and down gradient configuration, and minimize the angle with the tool.

(2) Internal cooling bits should pay attention to pressure and flow rate, and prevent leakage of coolant from affecting cooling effect.


4. Correct drilling technology

(1) When the dip angle of the drilling surface is greater than 8-10 degrees, it is not drillable. Feed should be reduced to 1/2-1/3 of normal when < 8-10 degrees.


(2) Feed should be reduced to 1/2-1/3 of normal when the dip angle of the drilling surface is more than 5 degrees.


(3) When drilling cross holes (orthogonal holes or oblique holes), feed should be reduced to 1/2-1/3 of normal.


(4) 2-edge bits shall not be reamed.
