(1) the size difference should not be too large, generally not more than 2mm, because if the size difference is too large, it will cause a change in the groove shape of the tool, which directly affects the chip space and geometric angle.

(2) If it is an end mill with a flute hole, it can be resharpened on a normal machine tool at a lower cost, but if it is a keyway milling cutter without a flute hole, it cannot be resharpened on a normal machine tool and needs to be resharpened on a special five-axis linkage machine tool, which will also cost more.

2. Surface roughness problem

This can be achieved by changing the geometric angle of the cutting edge, such as increasing the number of degrees of the front and rear angle will significantly improve the surface roughness of the workpiece. However, if the machine tool of the user is not rigid enough, the edge may be blunt instead of improving the surface roughness, which is very complicated and requires analysis of the processing site before a conclusion can be drawn.

II. The need for custom-made tools is mainly to solve three problems, special shape, special strength and hardness, special chip tolerance and chip removal requirements.

(2) The material of the tool is relatively brittle, especially the carbide material, which makes the processing once encountered in the vibration or processing torque is large, the tool will break, which in the use of conventional tool processing, often does not cause great damage, because the tool is broken can be replaced, but in the use of non-standard custom tool processing, because the possibility of replacement is not great, so once the tool breaks, will cause a series of problems, such as delivery delays, etc., will cause great losses to the user.
